Major SENTRI
Improvements in Otay Mesa
|
We are very pleased to
announce that as of today, there is a new pedestrian SENTRI program
in Otay Mesa. Hours of operation will be the same as vehicle SENTRI
hours: 6:00 am to 10:00 pm every day. People already enrolled in the
vehicle SENTRI program can immediately start using the pedestrian
SENTRI in Otay Mesa. The enrollment procedure for the pedestrian
SENTRI is exactly the same as the vehicle SENTRI procedure.
Applications should be made on line at www.cbp.gov. This new program will bring
tremendous benefits to our trade stakeholder's
community, who has employees crossing several times by foot within a
day.
Also, as of today an additional vehicle SENTRI lane is now
operational. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) now has the ability
to open up to three SENTRI lanes in Otay Mesa, considering they are
using the bus lane as well, when empty.
The Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce would like to thank and commend CBP
for implementing these very important programs that our Chamber has
been advocating for.

Follow up on Pandemic
Influenza Seminar

If you missed our
seminar on Pandemic Influenza and Other Disaster Preparedness that
was held on April 9,2009, and co-sponsored by the San Diego Business
Healthcare Connection (BHC) and Otay Mesa Chamber of
Commerce, we would like to give you the opportunity to review the
materials presented at our event. We also invite you to fill
out a short survey about the materials provided to you, and in
exchange, all responders will be entered to win a $15 amazon.com gift
certificate.

Among
the materials provided is a Volunteer Resource Commitment Form. This
commitment allows you to pledge your individual resources or business
resources during a Pandemic Influenza or other major emergency.
We invite you to fill out this form and fax it back to us at 619-231-0338.
We also invite
you to attend one of our three follow-up workshops that will be held
May 14, May 20, and June 4. These workshops will give you the
opportunity to create your own Business Continuity Plan (BCP) or to
incorporate Pandemic Influenza into an already existing BCP as well
as information on how you can volunteer yourself or the resources of
your business during a Pandemic Influenza or other major emergency.
